RDR™
Unique to the ARC Process™ is our patent pending technology for isolating and processing plastics and other non-digestible organics into Refuse Derived Reductant (RDR™).
The recovery of all residual material after the digester circuit is an essential component of the total solution concept.
The process targets the carbon and hydrogen content of these materials to form a high quality, cost competitive and environmentally sustainable industrial grade reducing agent.
RDR™ is a composite material formed through the recovery of carbon contained in the mixed solid waste stream. As such, it is a low-cost alternative to the use of high-grade coal or metallurgical coke. RDR production starts with a drying and semi-pyrolysing process that removes all moisture and initiates release of volatiles.
The process is temperature controlled to maintain product quality and consistency.
The softened composite material is then extruded into the RDR briquette where it is quality tested and certified.
